Struggling as I have been over the past 3 years, there are very specific things that I am grateful of and that I use as my focus on the hardest of days:
1. Nature - specifically sunrises and sunsets
2. My amazing four kids and every moment that I get to spend with them
3. Family and friends who have been by my side and supportive consistently, quietly, and without fail.
4. Music! Songs that make me laugh, cry, and dance.
5. Books, books, and more books. Always books for my sanity.
You've been through so much, Sandy. Thanks for sharing your list! I like your idea of focusing on those very specific items to help you on hard days. I hope you're having lots of opportunities to enjoy all the things on your list this summer.
I love this! It hit for me personally as we just had a session last week at work about having 'an attitude of gratitude'. I made a commitment to show gratitude (professionally or personally) at least once a week (put a reminder on my work calenda). The awesome thing about giving gratitude, it feels good for both the giver and the receiver.
I also recently listened to a podcast interview with Michael J Fox and he said "gratitude makes optimism sustainable". I like this - gratitude can drive emotions.
Lastly, things I am grateful for this weekend:
1. Long walks with Ellen
2. Air conditioning
3. Ted Lasso (ditto)
4. Picking red strawberries from the hanging plant
5. 1 year old hugs :)
6. Morning coffee on the deck
7. Sunday night dinner "picnic food" (brats, corn on the cob, beans, potato salad)
Great thoughts and nice list, Sara! Thanks for sharing. I like the idea of a reminder to practice gratitude, whether a note on the calendar or some other prompt.
Speaking of Michael J. Fox, Tad and I watched "Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie" on Friday. It's really sad and also very inspiring. He's brave to share so openly and hopefully bring more attention and funding to research.
Anyway - I'm grateful for you, sister! Have a good week!

I am thankful for you, my friend!
Likewise, Lynn! Hope to see you sometime soon!
