Finally finding a quiet moment to catch up on things, including reading on your new platform. We do live most of our lives "in between" but I find I mark my life by those milestone events: before kids, during college, pre COVID, etc. I'm sure most people identify this as well.

And Kiddos to you for writing. My goal this summer is to set up specific writing hours at least twice a week and work on my children's books.

Yes - I'm so glad you're getting more intentional about writing hours this summer! You definitely have those children's books inside of you. I can't wait to hear more about your ideas.

I agree with you. So often I put off what I think I can not do well. I am so hard on myself. I need to just give it a try.

Inspirational, as always, Mary! You are a model of authenticity, presence, courage, and vulnerability. I love that you quote Pema Chödrön! I recently came across this quote from Joseph Campbell (from the Hero with a Thousand Faces) and I thought of you, both because of the author and the words of the quote. "Participate joyfully in the sorrows of the world. We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy. The warrior's approach is to say "yes" to life: "yea" to it all." Not only to you say yes to life, you also, as Barbara Kingsolver says in Small Wonders, "look life in the eye and you love it back." Looking forward to reading all that you see fit to write!

Thanks, Lori! And thanks for sharing the Joseph Campbell quote. It's often a struggle to "participate joyfully," and it's a continual practice. You're very much a role model to me in that regard. I'm always inspired by our conversations and dialogues!
