So lovely to read...as always. Funny that you talk of hibernation. Just told several people this week that I feel like I am hibernating. I am not being lazy. I am content to lay low. To stay home. To let winter do its thing (cold) and me do mine (stay home and rest or work on simple tasks around home). I am embracing my winter weather as a time to settle in at home. I have actually almost felt like I'm nesting! LOL
Poetry! Ahhhh... I have an idyllic picture of sitting by a fire in a fireplace with a much of tea and a warm soft blanket and stack of poetry. Thank you for sharing Mary Stein!!! I didn't yet listen to the podcast but I've made a note of it. I did listen to and LOVED the poem "You Don't have to be everything." I also loved the idea of "10 line Tuesdays." The 10 line Tuesday reminds me both of Maria Popova's Bird Divination cards project and of the marginalian post I sent to you yesterday morning where Maria uses the first line of a Lucile Clifton poem as inspiration for her own. These dedicated kinds of practice feel so grounding and inspiring.
Thanks for sharing, Lori! I just read the post you sent me yesterday. That's beautiful. It dovetails with a guided meditation I listened to this morning about letting go. By the way, here's the link to the Marginalia post in case others want to read it: https://www.themarginalian.org/2025/01/17/forgiveness/

Thanks, Sandy. I'm glad you're embracing this time to settle in and lay low. Nesting is good!
Ooops! I pressed return to write, "May spring come soon! But not too soon!" Enjoy your hunkering in. xo
